Ramadan Kareem :)

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته (Peace and blessings of Allah with you)

I know it's the 10th of Ramadan already, but I thought I wanted to show you two of my favourite Ramadan-celebrating songs that I their used to listen to as a child. I love their music, their words, and somehow it's just the my soul gets really happy when I listen to them.

Before, I would like to present to you Ramadan if you don't know it..
You may have seen or known that Muslims fasting for almost the whole day, from food and drink (including water.) We do fast from dawn to sunset. Daily, in the 30 days of Ramadan.
Ramadan is one of the months of the Hijri Calendar, but it's not just a special month, it's like a boot camp for Muslims, when they encouraged and in fact supported to change their bad habits in that month; rewards of good behaviour are multiplied in this month. Bad behaviour may abort the fasting, so Muslims try to avoid it, initially during their fasting, then it's easy not to do it after Iftar (fasting breaking at sunset), and we're encouraged to keep the good habits further after Ramadan, and continue to stop the bad habits whether or not we're fasting.

So, the first song is "Ramadan This Year" and its first sentence is "Ramadan this year, changed all my habits"

The second one is the intro of a TV series "Bakkar" of a Nubian child called Bakkar. I love it!

Hear Whisperings on Windows... :)

Hello readers,

I know I don't post a lot on my blog, but after all I am a Windows App Developer and a Computer Science Student and I don't usually have the writer's idea of a new blog post.

Anyway,  I would like to invite you to install "Whisperings" App that has just been published to the Windows and Windows Phone Store.

"Wait! What is Whisperings, in the first place??" you ask.

Well, Whisperings is simply a unique Music App that plays - relaxing - solo piano music from Whisperings website.

I used to listen to it a lot while studying, or at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I used to stream the music from their website itself, and I knew they had a mobile App for iOS, Mac, BlackBerry and other platforms, but they didn't have one for the Windows platform, which I am a user of (Windows and Windows Phone.) So, here it came from.. I started working on a prototype, sent them my proposal to start working for them on this project, and they welcomed that contribution, so I have resumed working on the App since June 2015 provided the necessary resources from David Nevue (the Founder) and Kenneth Roy (Developer of the other platforms' App versions.)

Finally, I have submitted it to the Windows Store Team two days ago, and got certified and published today.

At the following link, you can find the App in the Store, as well as screenshots and more detailed description and features list: https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9NBLGGH31VH4

Get it from Microsoft
Available on Windows and Windows Phone 8.1 and later.

If you didn't listen to it before, or not interested to buy it now, I would lovely encourage you to listen to the free stream from their website on this link: http://solopianoradio.com/player-free.htm :) Then, you will find that App a much more helpful and easy way to keep your overall lifestyle relaxed with this music.

I hope you'll love listening to such beautiful, peaceful, stress-reducing piano music. <3 :="" p="">

Happy Easter 2015

Hey!

This is one of the performances that I loved being in. This is Eastern Day's celebration concert in New Cairo Club, where I performed the theme song of the famous romantic "Love Story" movie with Mr Wesam's Violin accompaniment, and we also performed group performances with other special musicians including Oudist Farah Yasser, Pianist Morhaf Hamwi and Pianist Minnah Mostafa.

To start with, here's a part of the Love Story duet - live from the venue :)

If you are in Egypt, you must have heard Omar Khairat's "Am Ahmed" theme song at least once, but in case you didn't hear us performing it, here's a preview:

I hope we can do much better performances in 2016. :)

Why I installed Windows 10 Technical Preview this week

Talks about Windows 10 Technical Preview have been around for some time, followed by Microsoft HoloLens that will use Windows 10 in a holographic interface. Interesting, isn’t it? Anyway, the decision whether to install a preview (early) version of an operating system may be hard for some technology geeks and developers who tried installing a preview OS before - like me.

As I was one of those who tried Windows 8.1 (as well as Windows 8) before its official stable release to end-users, the disadvantages of that experience taught me to be more patient when it comes to early releases (a.k.a. Betas/Previews); for Windows 8.1, the Visual Studio (the Development Environment program where we design apps and write codes) compatible with Win8.1 released Store Apps that couldn’t be published to Windows Store until later. The problem is, technology fans can’t easily wait to experience the upcoming future before it comes.. But not on their primary PC!

However, this time I got much more patient than at Windows 8.1’s release, and also smarter.. Open-mouthed smile

Firstly, I grounded my curiosity's need to download Windows 10 Technical Preview as it became available earlier, until I knew about more updates and improvements; then successfully joined the community last weekend at build 9926.

Applying the second lesson, I also didn’t install it on my primary PC where I keep and develop my applications, but only installed it on my 6.5-years-old laptop – which I’m also planning to make a home entertainment system in my bedroom with. As well, the copy of Windows on that laptop was not genuine, so I thought equipping it with a Technical Preview will let me activate it using the product key I was provided as a Windows Insider.

Yet, it does have issues especially on a 1GB-RAM-equipped old laptop, but I like to give my feedback to Windows team, believing they can use it later to improve Windows 10, just like the importance of users’ feedback on my published applications. Winking smile

Summing and re-ordering it up, here are the true reasons I’ve installed Windows 10 Technical Preview last Tuesday:

  1. Getting the latest technologies earlier Open-mouthed smile
  2. Providing feedback to Windows 10 team at Microsoft.
  3. Trying my own applications how they run on Windows 10 Smile
  4. Activating the Windows copy on my old laptop.

Are you a Windows Insider, too? What about sharing the reason you installed Windows 10 Technical Preview?

How to stop “Check-Your-Profile-…” post in 5 simple steps?

Screenshot (136)

Have you been seeing this frequently in the last weeks of 2014 and thought it’s a spam? (Yes, it is.) Whether it was posted on your own timeline or your friend’s, you probably wish to stop seeing it, don’t you? It’s just simple! I tested it with two of my cousins and succeeded (so far Open-mouthed smile) – thanks for their assistance Winking smile.

I’ll start by telling the cause as I see it must be and this is optional for you to read, then you’ll find the super solution listed.

Cause: Without making much analysis to this, you probably clicked on that link from someone else’s post before. Maybe you have forgotten it. However, you’re here to kick these posts out of your profile.

The following steps will remove all such previous posts from your timeline and should stop them from appearing again.
  1. Go to “Settings”.
    Screenshot (137)
  2. Move to “Apps” tab.Screenshot (138)
  3. Look for the app that posts your unneeded posts. In our case, “Microsoft” with the four coloured squares icon.Screenshot (139)
  4. Click on it to open its permissions dialog. Click the “Remove App” link.Screenshot (141)
  5. Mark the checkbox; to remove previous “Check your profile visitors” posts from your profile in one click. Then, click “Remove”.Screenshot (142)
From now on, no “Check your profile visitors” nor “Check your lovers” posts on your profile. If you see it useful, why not tell your friends whose profile share such spam about these steps?

Any comments?

Have a good day Winking smile

Turkish March – Annual Concert 2014

After a couple of years (or more) not performing in the annual club concerts in Al Rehab Club, I was back with this hard music composed by W.A. Mozart, as well as other orchestral songs.

Just to be honest, I liked the challenge rather than the music itself, especially that I prefer romantic music like “Love Story,” “Romeo & Juliet” and others.
